Exclamation RUMOR: No exit rows for elites...?? (UPDATE: Reportedly not true)

Sorry for double posting, but I realized that the Preferred versus Choice Thread that I posted on a few minutes ago has so many items that this new, big thumb in the eye by US might not be visible enough. I consider this a major negative change, so here it is again--

As a multi-year CP to GP (now GP), one of the benefits that means a lot to me is the ability to book the exit rows without extra fees. When they took away a lot of the preferred seating to make it "choice" and charged for it, at least they left us our exit row seats.

I was told by a senior GA a couple of days ago, with absolutely no doubt in her mind, that the exit rows are about to be redesignated as "choice" on August 1 - i.e. we all get to pay extra for them, elite status be damned..

First - have others heard this?

And second - how to we make such an uproar that they don't make this ridiculous change?

This is an amazing punch in the nose for those of us who actually make the effort to achieve status on this airline.........
