The good thing about checking on-line is that the airline knows you are coming so even if you get to the airport within 29 minutes of the flight, an agent can print you a duplicate boarding pass. If you did not check in and got there within 29 minutes of the flight then basically you are sol and at the mercy of the counter agent who may let you on the flight or may not!
