New aircraft
Saturday July 9, Flight 1539 DFW-SFO was an hour late boarding, allegedly for "an inspection", but the gate agents tried to cheer us up by saying we'd be the first to fly on the plane. I thought they meant the first to fly it that day, but when we boarded, it was indeed a brand new 737 with the sky interior, complete with that "new plane smell". In flight, the captain confirmed that it was the first revenue flight for that aircraft. Nice interior touches, it feels more open due to the configuration of the ceiling and the new overhead bins, but I think the aisle is a little narrower. It also seemed more quiet. We were in exit row 15, doing a turnaround MR. It was an unexpected surprise.
