I currently have the Amex Gold card and using it to accrue MR points with the 75k bonus offer. The MR points are useful for transferring to miles (BA, Delta, CO) and some hotel programs, so the MR points are good as they can easily be converted elsewhere.

Amex SPG, It seems these points are harder to come by and many deem these much more valuable. What are some of the benefits of SPG that have made these the prefer choice.
