Actually, I was referring to actual for-sale A fares selling for less than C fares. No upgrades or buy-ups involved. I cannot remember the details by now - I vaguely remember it being a TPAC flight - but I do know I saw an A fare selling for less than C on a particular route.
It might - might - have been a fare I saw specified through ExpertFlyer (fares which sometimes never appear in reality).
Sorry I misunderstood what was being discussed.
I thought that NYCSINUA was incredulous about A fares being less than Z fares. A fares less than C, D fares are actually quite common.
