Suggestions for insurance in a nested itin

So my gf has the following:

JFK-MXP-JFK

and from MXP she is doing the following:

MXP-BUD-SOF
and then
SOF-BUD-MXP

The problem is that her return flight SOF-BUD-MXP has like 30 mins connection time in BUD, and then she has another 50 mins to catch her flight in MXP.

So is there an insurance product that can cover her in this situation? i.e. her missing one of the flights due to weather, or irrops and protect her on alternate flight if anything like that would occur? Since it is 2 tickets the second airline would not be responsible to take her from MXP to JFK if she missed her flight( she is booked on the lowest possible fare, so guarantee that even if she is late by like 5 mins they will cancel the whole ticket)...
