The biggest problem with US is that it doesn't bend over backwards or provide some of the amenities that other airlines do, many of which don't really take much effort or cost alot of money. For instance, the Red Carpets that United and Delta use for elite boarding. Not only does it take the chaos out of the boarding process, but it also recognizes the elite passengers in a very simple way. Then there's the Million Miler programs....while US has now implemented its' own version, it only allows loyal customers to achieve Silver status, regardless of how many miles they've flown. Finally, why in the world would you charge your Gold, Platinum and Chairman's elite fees to book a frequent flyer award and implement blackout dates that also apply to them? It's stuff like this that give US a bad name and make it difficult for people to change their perception, regardless of how much improvement's been made in on-time performance and baggage handling! Like they say, it's the little things that count!
