I can honestly say, this is the first time I've heard of 2 planes colliding midair and both not only landing safely, but they both continued on to different airfields and landed safely.
The FAA's Fergus described it as one of the rarest of events, a midair collision in which no one was injured and the pilots were able to safely land at airports — the Piper landed at Merrill Field, its intended destination and the Cessna went to Lake Hood.
Granted, these weren't large commercial planes, but impressive nonetheless.
