After reading the recent thread on Diamond Breakfasts and tipping, I decided to write "Included" on the line for gratuity on my Diamond breakfast bill. One of the posters cited the actual GP rules and it clearly says that gratuity is included. If Diamond guests write a gratuity on the bill, apparently some properties put the gratuity on guests' bills (PH Chicago) and others do not. I left an additional small gratuity in cash but I wish this issue would be clarified (hint hint Flyertalk Gold Passport representative). Having said that, breakfast was yummy and service was good.
During turndown service, I found it odd that housekeeping would leave one bottle of water when it was very clear that two people were in the room. I called down for an additional bottle and a six pack of bottle water was left. That was nice.
I hated the mushy pillows. I should have thought to call down for firmer pillows. I also thought the bath towels were quite thread bare. They need some new towels (or at least every bath towel in my room should be immediately replaced).
A nice stay. I think this property is overpriced but it is nice if using points.
