It probably won't save you time (nor will it cost you time). The taxi + Maglev should run you around y90, whereas the taxi only costs around y180. You should try to be at the airport by around 6:50p and I would allow an hour to get to the airport. Getting a taxi from People's Square during rush hour can be a real challenge so you might want to prearrange something. BTW, one of the airport buses (#5, I think) stops at People's Square. This would be your cheapest option by far.
