Anyway, in the last week 1 other passenger has now joined us in the F cabin, and there are finally some people sitting in the other cabins too - they had looked seriously empty before - it was like a ghost plane. Availability now says:

F8 A7 J9 C9 D4 W9 E9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K8 M2 G0

In comparison, the earlier BA 195 is listing as:

F9 A7 J9 C9 D9 R1 W9 E9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K7 M2 L1 V1 G0

Yes, in the winter months the IAH flights can be slow, especially at the back. As a result IAH had a total of 4 flights axed during the winter. However, during the summer months, especially during the school holidays, I have never once been on an even remotely empty flight. I can almost assure you that the F cabin will have at most 3 empty seats.

This is the ting that always got me. Why do BA send 744 during the winter and 772 during the summer? To myself it seems that BA should switch the two. I do think that a 744 is needed for the summer from IAH and a 772 can replace the 744 for the winter. But alas, BA probably have better routes to send a 744 on during the summer than IAH.

Last summer BA did send a 744 for the 197 and a 772 for the 195, but seem to have reverted to a double daily 772 for this season.

I know some may not like it, but I have always thought IAH would be a good destination for BA's new 77W's. A little more capacity for the summer (when the flights are busy) and a little less capacity for the winter (when the flights do not require a 744 anyway); not to mention the guarantee of NF and the new WT+ and WT, a great way to rid competition of the IAH-LHR flight segments from the new UA. But that could be said for any route.
