Just got back from Nadi, taking the CO HNL-NAN-HNL route. The latest info appears to be: CO plans to give up NAN, for both Honolulu and Guam. A CO plane (737-8) is being reassigned to fly a route that includes Hong Kong to Singapore and will replace the wide-body that flies that route (currently UA895, 747-4). Freeing up a wide-body there will provide the ability to fly the Houston Auckland route after the UA merger is complete.
Will it be nice to fly Houston to Auckland non-stop? Yes. But it is quite sad to see CO pull the HNL-NAN flight. Now that it is one day a week the load factor seems OK and it's a great point on the route map.
Finally, I can't believe the HKG-SIN info will be correct in the long run. Why would anyone fly that route on a 737?
