too bad OP you didnt come to FT 1st and ask what you should do
although you wouldnt have earned tons of pts you would have Saved tons of pts if you had kept the Amex HH

eg I have a 4 day stay on pts at the end of July cat7 so its 50 x 4 = 200,000, called up HH and they said a GLON would drop it to 170k, so I then asked how many pts for a AXON (holders of the Amex HH CC get a special rate) and was told 145k = pay for 3 get 1 free

allthough I use my Amex HH when staying at a Hilton prop, I keep it for cashing in and saving pts on the free stay

If you plan to rack up pts via staying at Hilton props I strongly suggest you reapply for the CC in order to save pts when you cash them in (this I believe is on stays of 4 or more days that we get the reduction)
