Hmm, I agree with the OP that if DL is advertising the availability of real champers in C, then that is what they should be pouring, otherwise the wine list should be changed to read "Sparkling Wine."
Additionally it doesn't say much for the training/sophistication of the FAs if all "the bubbly stuff" is the same to them - remember that this is the carrier that imagines itself to be The New Premium Asian Airline. Details, no matter how inconsequential they may seem, are what makes the difference between an SQ or EK, and DL.
Imagine the hoopla in these parts if all the Coke heads suddenly were served only Pepsi..
