obscure2k -- I'm very sorry for any offense I may have given. Yes, I am new, and as a moderator perhaps you could clarify something regarding the TOS for me. Why is it that hfly is allowed to respond to my first-ever post by insulting and mocking me (based on his own misinterpretation of my question, no less) without a single word of reprimand, yet I am threatened in such dire terms when I defend myself? Is it because he is a "respected, long-time member", and I'm just a newbie? I'm just trying to clearly understand the rules at the outset so I don't run into any more issues. I realize I should have used more delicate language in pointing out the flawed nature of his response, and I do apologize for that.

Perhaps it's just some kind of ritualistic hazing of new members, like in a fraternity. If so, please excuse me for not accepting it with more grace. It seems that folks that actually try to help out a new guy should be considered the "respected" members.
