Ah well, the benefits of
N751PR displaying his FT luggage tags. ^
The guy at the checkin counter was at first quizzical and then having a good laugh as i was getting my boarding pass 15 minutes after having been stamped into China.
I'll give UA kudos that their PVG staff is adept in English. They showed understanding better than my typical encounters with TG and PG staff in Thailand.
On another note, we arrived about 45 minutes early on July 9 from LAX. My connecting flight was now more than 48 hours in the future so i walked slowly out of the plane, used the facilities, was near the end of the UA pax, from a very empty plane, and the transit stamp was slow in coming, probably because the connection was now at 47Hrs and 45 minutes.
When i got to the carousel there were no bags on it. No pax either. This was the first time I've checked a bag in 100kEQMs this year and I was beginning to get a little concerned.
Lo and behold, there were two employees near the front of the carousel and, as I was within about 10m, they asked, 'are you dsquared37?' They were waiting with my bag and wondering where i could possibly be.... It was a nice touch.
