SkyClub access is considered a BusinessElite benefit, and any flight out of Newark wouldn't be designated as "BusinessElite"

OP - Sounds like one of the flights could be one that shows "business" because it's the same flight # as an international flight, which then causes confusion when it turns out to be standard domestic first. Doesn't make sense, but that's just the way they code it in those situations. To add to the confusion, not every international flight that shows a "business" cabin has a BusinessElite cabin & thus might not allow for club access. I'm not 100% sure on that latter point, but the "almost all intercontinental flights" wording indicates it may be the case.
