Happened to me on intra-Asia flights too. US didn't see some NH flights exist in their database at all.
+1 on this - and it can be very random too. Same call to US to book two flights to Tokyo, one month apart. Agent could see the NH availability for one set of flights, but could see nothing on NH for the same itinerary one month later despite the same availability showing on ANA.
Go figure. (or maybe they're blocking and I took the one NH flight for the month
)
