We came here last summer without kids, but commented how much there was for families to do at this resort. They have some nice trails through the woods down to the river and bicycles available for checkout. Within easy driving distance is the Sandia Peak tram and Old Town in Albuquerque. Santa Fe is an easy day trip. A few months ago I had booked a summer reservation in the $200+ range. For sub $90 rates, I would stay at Tamaya and use it as your home base.

As for The Range Cafe, I didn't think it lived up to its reputation. My food (I think it was pork chops) was served almost raw.
