Thank you Buccaneeratheart. We will be arriving from DTW, so Terminal 3 it will be. Our friend will be arriving from Romania, which is an EU country, I believe. The Information booth or the cafeteria sounds like a good plan.

My daughter and I both have EU passports, so customs should be a snap. I'm guessing it could take 20-30 minutes for checked bags to reach the passengers.

We will be traveling through Italy, France and the UK. Our return will be from Edinburgh. It was nice of you to give return advice.
