I generally get a response within 24 hours of emailing. You might as well call up Delta; their response by email is typically worthless - unless, and this is a trick, you say something like "I hope I don't receive a computerized response like I've gotten in the past" Sometimes that helps.

I emailed them yesterday night (8 PM EST) and got a reply around 6 AM today.
