AFAIK, the NYC police is not overly aggressive when it comes to the LGBT community. Several years back I had a friend attacked near the projects on
17th Street and local precident on 20th street was invaluable in helping him with the police report and other resources to avail himself to.
I'd like to know officially why the police raided the bar. If it was for "sex" I have an issue with that. While getting groped in the dark by a total stranger is not for me I don't see it as reason for a raid.
Considering who Eagle's neighbors are on that block, you have to kind of doubt that sex was the issue. Possibly complaints about some patrons being under the age of 21??? Who knows.

It's unlikely we'll ever find out. There are so many different agencies involved in these kinds of raids, the initiating call could have been made by dozens of different people.
