I am a new Silver MPC member and will be flying from DTW to HKG with one stop at ORD (new route). I have heard that CX occasionally gives op-up at CX check-in counters. But I assume I will be checked in all the way through in Detroit at an AA counter instead (don't think CX has any presence in Detroit). Should I politely ask about op-up at ORD gate? Does anyone have any experience on MPC op-up at a code-share partner counter? Advice? I hope my MPC won't go to waste because I live in Detroit Thanks!
