To be fair ... various TSOs here have noted that staffing can be difficult. If TSA at a local airport can't hire enough female TSOs to have a female TSO trained in the various patdown procedures on duty 24/7, then you end up in situations like this. It's not necessarily a matter of intelligence.

And before someone starts condemning TSA for being unable to hire enough staff, let me point out that plenty of people here would actively condemn anyone who chooses to work for TSA. That can't make hiring any easier.
