Re. pocket spending money: Err on the side of caution. You're daughter is traveling with a group and may not have a lot of options when it comes to spending money. If they take the group to Pret (a sandwich chain) for lunch, she's eating at Pret, not a cheaper place down the street. It's easy to say, "I'll only spend $5 a day for lunch" when you're traveling independently and have a lot of flexibility. It's much more difficult when a chaperone is making the decision based on what's logistically easiest for a large group of people.
