newly renovated Nomi
I had a very pleasant lunch yesterday at Nomi. I was staying at another hotel in Chicago. Our hotel concierge made a reservation for a party of four and she requested a window table for us. Upon arrival at around 12:15pm we were given a window table. The dining room was practically deserted while the terrace was packed. I guess we were one of the few who appreciate air conditioning.
Lunch was splendid. My wife and my friends had the ginger and mushroom bullion which they said it was excellent and very flavorful. My friends enjoyed their paninis. My wife thought the sushi was good but was especially impressed by the very fresh wasabi. My chicken salad with macadamia nuts was wonderful and I'm salivating right now just thinking about it. We had the blueberry and blackberry tart for dessert which was tasty, simple, refreshing, and satisfying.
Service was very good and polished (though I found the employees wearing buttons that said something like "I don't want to strike but I will" a bit jarring).
The new furniture is somewhat more relaxed than before, though still very tasteful and comfortable. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
