Maybe it's just me, but I don't think many business travelers will take to the highway to drive from Austin to Boston because the airplane has no overhead bins. And I would store all those things the same place I do now, in my backpack under the seat in front of me. I'll admit I didn't bring much jewelry on my current two month job on Oahu...
