The cruise is on HAL Amsterdam and had booked a cat C outside cabin. The difference in price to upgrade to balcony suite ( next level up) was many hundreds of dollars so they gave us credit and charged us for a 2 level lower cabin which was about $80 pp. That plus the dinner for 2 in Pinnacle Grill ($40) and bottle of champagne is better that what AMEX was going to give us.
