This has now been confirmed to be a bug in the CrossOver Mac/Wine product itself (

Unfortunately, the Wine volunteer team is unable to provide an ETA on how long it will take them to resolve it, while CrossOver is looking for a sum of $3000 USD+ to fix a bug in their own product.
Therefore, we would encourage all CrossOver users, who have purchased a CrossOver license, to contact its creators to speed things up -- please PM for the appropriate instructions.
Alternatively, you can use one of the other Mac solutions that are not subject to this bug (e.g. Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion):
