Yes, it's far more common than you would think. There is a certain percentage of travelers that are either clueless or just plain rude. The ones that take up the entire space are the same ones you see standing in the middle of an escalator or moving walkway not allowing anyone to pass them. They just don't get it and never will.
Yes, I definitely agree. I can handle the clueless, they just haven't learned yet. It's the just plain rude ones that get to me.
And CPRich, If I really needed it I suppose I would have said something--which I should have done anyway.
