I am going to the Equinox for 2 nights in August. Staying mid week and using the Starwood free resort night promo. I am a gold member. Is it safe to assume that even if property is not sold out I am going to be given one of the worst rooms in the property?

Is it possible to use points to upgrade room or is that not kosher since it is a promo stay?
