Or pick a chain that does allow them. My sister had golden retrievers & when transiting w/ them, usually stayed at a LaQuinta due to reasonable room rates & reasonable dog fees. On longer trips I don't think she brought them, but made arrangements for a dogsitter at her home or a kennel.
