I stayed there in the spring and most of what is written here is stil valid. Rooms are small but if you have a walkout to the pool area it makes the room seem more cofortable. At the least if you get a balcony looking over pool area it is a big upgrade. If you get a room with no balcony which I did it felt like tiny. I actually mentioned this at checkout (I never complain but we just hated being in the room) and they actually took 50% off the bill.
I'm Diamond and received breakfast coupons, average breakfast at best. Having a car in this area ( I always drive down as I love the views as you get closer, especially if driving down at sunset) is a plus but parking is a hassle.
I also stayed at one of the Waldorf properties a few years ago and that was nice- geat upgrade but could be pricey.
Overall Doubletree is average but pool area is nice, if you don't have a car better choice is to book hotel near Duval St and walk.
