Residence Inns have a much longer average length of stay than Westins, Sheratons or Hampton Inns. For a night or two, a dog might be fine.

It's when it becomes Day 17 of the dog being left in the room by the guest, barking its tail off, that the other guests put their foot down.

(I think it's not a cleaning issue, it's likely a noise issue.)
