The problem with SQ redemptions is that A380s are generally blocked and they are flying more and more routes. You can of course do it on LH or similar.

We went via DXB, changing to EK there, because I thought it was stupid flying all that extra way to SIN. However, in retrospect, it was a mistake because both legs (LHR-DXB, DXB-MLE) were too short for a decent sleep. It would have been better to fly to SIN and get a decent sleep on the way.
