I believe there is a Delta promo right now that when you transfer 100k Amex MR points to SkyMiles you get 50% mileage bonus and 25k MQMs. However this promo is not as good as the earlier ones in 2010 and this spring (only 50k MR points needed before). I would wait for fall IMHO. 100k Amex MR points have a lot of value in other programs.

For the "early plat" offer, from what I know you need to already be Silver/FO in 2011, transfer enough MR points to get the 25K MQM bonus to get Gold/GM via the other promo, and then you *might* get targeted for this promo afterwards via email. YMMV.

However, the "early plat" promo is VERY targeted. My partner was identical to me - FO in 2011, transferred MR during promo to get Gold, but did not get the "early plat" offer. Differences are that I am the only one with Amex Plat and I buy all of our tickets (leisure and work) on my card. I average around 1.5k a month on airfare.

From what I read a number of other people did the same thing as me and didn't get targeted either. One other thing I read was that people aren't opted into all Delta email communication so they don't get any invite.
