Quite honestly, that's one of the things that keeps me flying CO. There is simply no wait (typically a few seconds, at most a minute or two) any time I call the elite line, which I do very frequently, at various times of the day. I'd say you are extremely unlucky (or calling the wrong number or not being recognised as elite - been discussed here very frequently).
