Nickle and dime me with curbside bag fees?

Mrs. B had the pleasure of flying F in US earlier this week on a CO award ticket. While she found the overall experience to be pleasant, she was rather surprised to find that US still charges $2 per bag (including carseats) for curbside baggage check with a redcap. I know WN, UA and AA have eliminated this petty fee following implementation of the $25+ checked bag fees (not to mention the displeasure of skycaps who get reduced tips).

Also US has no milk on planes? Thus US joins WN in being the most child-unfriendly among domestic carriers. (WN still takes the crown by lacking changing tables on some planes). Fortunately we know enough to prepare for such instances by buying milk at the airport.
