This is true, and if they turn the meter on it's closer to 150-200 THB, but if you're headed to BKK to catch UA 876 which departs at 7 am (which is when I'm usually headed there...) good luck finding a cab to take you there for 300 THB esp. if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt (which, again, is usually where I am). 350 seems to be the best I can do, and there's no question of tolls because at 4 am, there's no need to take the expressway... I fought w/the cab drivers about these ludicrous fares the first few times I was there-- now I've given up and just ante up the $$.
