I should have been clearer:
When I said "60 inch pitch in business class" I was referring to Business Elite, which is not offered to Hawaii.
"Substantially less in first class" referred to domestic first, such as on the 767-400.
It's true that Continental's seats are wider up front on the 767, but they only offer business class on 767's, not domestic first class.
Thanks for all of your positive feedback. I'm glad I've been able to entertain you all (including one of you who used sit next to me in painful 3-hour lectures from an incomprehensible Italian cardiologist.)
