The MR is for Mister. Airlines, or travel agencies, would in the past often add titles (MR, MRS, MS, DR) to a name at the end. This practice has really gone out of style in most cases, but I noticed UA added it to my recent online booking (assuming based on my Mileage Plus profile with them).
