Isn't the easier way to do a reward ticket via MR so it's like a purchased ticket?
You'd earn miles on the airlines flown and that would truly start your Flyertalk Addiction. Also this doesn't require any reward availability which can be restrictive on flights to TLV.
Personally I suggest the direct flight on CO in J.
