So with the news about AA in talks with Airbus to buy 100 aircraft, I have to ask: Why did AA retire the A300?

IIRC, it was used a LOT on the huge Latin American operation that AA has, along with the 757. Was it not profitable, or did AA want an all Boeing fleet?
