While I agree that it's a sad state of affairs, it's better than hanging out in Boston or, ugh, DC. I mean, what are the other options for those who live here? One can't just run up to Montreal every weekend.
(If this weren't the GLBT forum, I would bring up an interesting, novel discussion which I had recently with someone I met at a watering hole I frequent, in which he implied (kind of explicitly) that it is counterintuitive that NY gay people have poor communication skills, and spend more time texting on their devices on Grindr and God knows what else rather than they spending time actually talking with other people, as normal people do. But I digress...)
