As i understand it the Royal Livingstone is a bit further removed from the falls as well no? I think the Victoria Falls Hotel is pretty much adjacent.
My husband and I stayed at the Royal Livingstone 3 years ago. The entrance to the Falls is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel .
We walked past several groups of zebras along the way.
The hotel has a deck and bar on the bank of the Zambezi, the mist from the Falls is clearly visible from the deck.
