Do they raid straight clubs too? If so, I don't see a 'gay' issue - but - I do see an issue with searching patrons, forcing the emptying of pockets without a warrant or arrest, etc. Were people forcibly detained inside the club and searched against their will?

Sounds like this goes quite often in NYC - why no legal challenges?

I would never consent to a search of my person, bags or car without a signed search warrant or an arrest - and if the latter was done on a flimsy 'resisting' or 'disturbance' charge, I would be licking my chops at the money my lawyer would be getting from that cop and his department.

So I must ask - why no legal challenges to stop the police from this behavior?
