Yes, QR has certainly become more expensive. I tried flying on QR twice this year from IAH, and both times they came out more than EK (last minute tickets) and I am flying again next month to BOM, the European and American carriers are the cheapest followed by QR and EK is the most expensive.

Last two years, they were the least expensive.
