While originally developed by the InterContinental Hotels Group and built by Taylor Woodrow construction from the United Kingdom, the InterContinental Hotel has had no association with InterContinental Hotels Group since the Soviet invasion in 1979. It continues to use the name and logo without connection to the parent company.
