This is not actually possible. CX do not have access to TG PNR's and v.v. They are protected for obvious reasons.
You can make an initial booking with both airlines sectors on the same PNR but these cannot be later merged.
Alternatively, the airline could 'link' the bookings either with the other airlines Vendor Location (i.e. the airline specific locator) or add a 'Passive Sector' which is like a fake booking so the flight time / numbers etc show.
But as other people have said, I will be surprised if CX do not simply check the luggage through at check-in on production of your TG onward flights.
There are also flights roughly every 2 hours so even if you are delayed, you should be able to re-booked fairly easily.
