I would really like to know Hainan's official policy. I will have my family with me and managing their stealth for 11+ hours each way is not something I want to deal with.
Unfortunately their web site is really quite thin.
Even if such a policy exists, I'm willing to bet that it is so poorly worded that it could be interpreted a number of different ways. Refer back to my advice in post #2: "this isn't a phone, mam." They will be fine.
